Dates here follow astronomical calculation (Thirukanitha, or Drik), using the true positions of the Sun and Moon. Some traditional almanacs use the older Vakya method, which can place a festival one day apart, especially when a tithi or the Sun's change of sign falls near sunrise or sunset. Please confirm with your family, temple or priest.
